Tryouts: Tryouts will be held Tuesday, October 21st & Tuesday, October 28th in the HJS Gym from 5 - 7pm. The first day will be a clinic where the girls will learn and practice the material for the tryout on the second day. Cheerleaders need to have with them appropriate cheer attire including a white shirt and black shorts (recommended: cheer shoes and bow). Any athlete trying out will need a physical on file.

Practices: We will start practices Monday, November 3rd. From Tuesday. November 4th - Thursday, November 6 all cheerleaders who have cheered for HJS before will not attend practice. They will be just for new cheerleaders to HJS. All cheerleaders will begin on Monday, November 10th. Once games start we will practice one day a week that we do not have a game. Game days vary depending on the week.

Games: HJS cheerleaders will cheer at HOME basketball games (both boys and girls). On game days cheerleaders will go to study tables after school and will then have about an hour to eat prior to stretching and getting ready for the game.

Eligibility: Cheerleaders follow the school's eligibility rules. Every Friday our Athletic Director will run a grade report for all athletes. Any athlete with two or more failing grades will have to sit out during practice and games for the week. Cheerleaders are student athletes - STUDENT athletes.

Financial Responsibility: $225 - school athletic fee $100+ uniform (current 7th graders - if you have cheered for Hopewell before you will not need to repurchase anything you already have) $40 - 60 - spiritwear (optional)
